I just got done rebuilding a d-14. I replaced the rod and main bearings and installed new pistons and sleeves. The problem is that it only shows 10-15 pounds of oil pressure is that good enough or is the pump bad.? Also the crank was reground and I plasti- gauged the rods and mains and they checked out fine. Thanks C. S.

10 to 15 is fine for that system as it is only measuring what is left after the main flow is used. That is why the OEM guages only say "NORMAL"
instead of psi. Bill

I went through the same thing a few years ago. One thing I overlooked and corrected later was the plugs in the end of the rocker arm tube. I didn't realize that there were cork plugs in there that had rotted and all but disappeared. When replaced, my oil pressure went from 10 psi on a cold start up to about 30. My engine runs at about 23 psi hot. It has run 100 hours with no problem.
