D17 serial no.

My dad bought a D17 LP tractor alot of years ago used, and he passed away about 18 years ago and my husband finally got my mom to sell it to him last week, and we want to restore it for us and our grandson. Before I can order any manuals I need to know more about it. This is what I have found. It has D17 with a oval around it on the side pannels, Has lights on the front, and has the numbers 224692 by the gear shift and on the back arms on LH side AM-4464 6 and RH side 229616, and on the motor looks like L7-19911-V. If any one could help with this information I would be very grateful. Thank You

that should be a 1959 model. I think that makes it a series I if it makes any difference to you. should not be too much difference if the manual says series II or III. The series IV had a few changes. Are you looking for the operations and parts manuals or a major teardown book?

1959 started with no.4300 and ended with 28199 you can see that your tractor was built in the fall or early winter of 59 , the first year d-17,s was made.

The D17's were built from 1958 thru 1967. Starting with 4300 thru 86061 so there are quite a few out there. They were a good old tractor..My 2 cents
