AC B- Leaking oil from PTO?

I recently purchased a 1939 AC model B, with a 5' Woods belly mower. It does a good job mowing, but when I park it, the next day I have a puddle of oil under the PTO of the tractor. I have been checking the level and adding 80-90W gear oil as needed. How hard is this to repair? Is this the correct lube to use? Thanks for your help!

90wt was the original on tractors that had no hydraulics. The pump will not pump 90wt, so the transmission-hydraulics-pto compartment was changed to 20wt. Today most people use trans-hydraulic fluid which is 20wt with additives for anti foaming, rust inhibitors, etc. If you have no hydraulics you are o.k. If you use the lift, change and flush and install trans-hydraulic. Where is the leak, rear seal??

Thanks for the reply. No hydraulics on the tractor so 90w oil is ok, or should I change to use 20w trans. oil? Yes, the leak is where the pulley that drives the belt for the Woods mower is attached to the PTO shaft. Does it have a seal where the shaft comes out of the rear housing? (Sorry I don't have any manuals,I just bought the tractor.)

90 wt is o.k. since you have no hydraulics. I believe the original rear seal was a leather-packing type thing. You should be able to match up a rubber type new seal by takeing it to NAPA, etc. Just remove the three bolts and slide the bearing cover/ seal retainer off the shaft.
