Can I drain the calcium with the tire's air pressure enough to get to tire off or do the tires have to be pumped. I was planning to pull the plug and stand back. Tom

Don't let one drop of calcuim Cloride get on the rims under the tube. It will cause you to be doing rum rust repairs, cutting and welding, if not buying new rims. I use used antifreeze, doesn't rust and it is heavy enough, and free. You just have to collect it.

Tom is correct. I always wash everything (wheel, tube, anything that has been touched with the CaCl) with soap and water and rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water. I also clean as much of the rust as I can from the inside of the rim and then paint it with Rust-O-Leum rusty metal primer. Even the dried CaCl residue is a hazzard to metal as it is a salt which "adsorbs" moisture from the air and will continue the rusting process if not TOTALLY removed. CaCl will also do a job on your clothes and skin if not rinsed off immediately. Absolutely harmless to rubber; I just removed a tire and tube that hadn't been off the wheel since '58 or '59 and the old Wards Riverside tube was in perfect condition; better than a tube I bought at Central Tractor just 2 years ago!!

I devised a system where I can pump in air to force the fluid out. First, (with valve stem at top) let all the air out. Then, find a fitting that will fit the large threads on the tube. From there, come out about 6" with 1/4" pipe to a tee. on the "straight-thru" end of the tee, put a brass valve and a hose to a 55 gal. plastic barrel. Put a brass valve on the other tee outlet and then a male air quick coupler hooked to an air compressor with the regulator set at no more than 15 P.S.I. Now, (with everything tightened well) turn wheel so valve stem is at bottom. Close valve to barrel, open valve to air until tire is inflated. Close valve to air, open valve to barrel. When flow of CaCl slows down, close barrel valve and open air valve again. Repeat process until tire is emptied. You'll probably have 8-10 gals. left in the tube, but that's not enuf to impede removing it from tire and rim. Some will say this is too time consuming, but it does work. Try to use as much brass as possible and be sure to clean everything real well with clean water when you're finished; if you ever intend to use the setup again, that is.
