Hello, I want to put an alternator on my A.C model B. Does any one have a picture or a diagram of a bracket to hold the alternator on? I know I will have to fabricate one but maybe someone has a better way of doing it. Any info greatly appreceated.

Mike, I used the origional bracket like Steve said. A different pivit bolt, some pipe shimms, maybe a washer or two for the base. The top I found was off a car, mostly to get the adjustment slot, but had to be rebent to fit. Also be sure to change the pulley from the generator to the alternator so the wide belt will fit. A narrow belt to fit the alternator pulley will bottom out in the fan and crankshaft pulleys. If you need a wiring digram for the conversion, I have one. Duey

Thankyou Steve and Duey for the information. My next question is were on the motor does the generator bracket bolt to? My tractor came generator delete. When I got the tractor it was the basic model. Hand crank and hand brakes. I since have switched torqetubes to put a starter on, foot brakes, new clutch and a battery box. So I'm not to sure were it goes. I did not see an acessory hole in the block.

IT ARRIVED WITHOUT AN ALTENATOR / GENERATOR
AS SUCH, WE HAVE TO CHARGE UP THE BATTERY
EVERYTIME WE GO TO USE IT

I have done a couple, last one was a D17. I usually try to keep the lower generator mount bolted to the engine. This can be the pivot for the alternator. Usually have to get a different pivot bolt and might have to shim forward to get pulleys to align. Top mount is always hand made for each tractor. usually a strap with slot. Sometimes can use the generator top strap with modification, or build your own. Once i used a threaded rod with a turnbuckel for top mount. It was easly to adjust the belt that way.
