Manifold studs

I just installed new manifold studs on my wd45 and they are leaking water around them.Can I use a good teflon thread sealant on them?

I recommend a liquid type thread sealer such as General Motors thread sealer (a similar product can
also be purchase from an auto parts store). It helps to make sure the studs and threads in the head are clean, try chasing the threads with a good
tap. The liquid base stuff is used for cylinder head bolts, water pump bolts, etc. and works great. It is easy to apply and clean up afterwords.

Chris, I don't known if the teflon sealant will
take the high heat from the manifold. You might
be better off going to the auto supply store and
getting a high temp sealant like Permatex. Better
to do it only once with the right product.

Probably, I have used silicone to seal head studs on a continental engine.
