I have an older magneto start Allis B and no matter what I do, I cannot get it to fire on more than one cylinder. In fact, it is always the same cylinder--the one closest to the radiator. I also need to know how to get the firing order staightened out. I messed around with the plug wires so much I think I screwed that up!!?? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

The firing order is stamped on the side of the block. I think it is 1 2 4 3 . That means that the plug closest to the radiator is #1. Pull out that plug. Have someone turn over the motor while you place your finger over the spark plug hole when your finger feels pressure, listen for the magneto to click. STOP, Take off the distributor cap and see which terminal the rotor is pointing at. This terminal is where the number one plug wire should be attached. Then number 2 is the next terminal(working in a clockwise direction), then 4, then 3. This will get your firing order back into shape. If that does not help, we will give you some more ideas. While the distributor cap is off, make sure the contacts are clean. Also, new plugs may help.
