Just went through the same problem with my 160D.
Had bought a new pump for it some time ago, but not installed it because I wanted to get all the bugs out of the system first. Removed the suction strainer housing to bead blast it and check it for pinholes (none found), re-installed it with a clean strainer and magnet. Pulled the suction tubes for the same process (again, no leaks found), re-installed them. Finally got the new pump out of the box and put my brand new clean never used before (well, you get the idea) pump on the engine and the problem went away. Took the old dirty functional (matches the tractor) pump to the bench, plugged one of the holes and put a vacuum pump on the other.
Guess what I found...Air sucking in around the shaft seal!
And just in case somebody asks, "Yes I did replace all of the gaskets and O-rings before tracking the problem to the pump itself".

There were a couple of pumps used on that machine (the type I have has a seal that is replaceable from the outside without tearing the pump body apart).

Hope this life history helps you some...
