Can anybody tell me what the flow rate on the tractor hydraulics is for a series 1 D15? I have been told that the high pressure system will make modern equip. run real slow because the flow rate is too low. I want to put a modern loader on this tractor so I am trying to figure out the best way to do it.

I have never seen flow rate numbers for a D15. I would guess the flow at 3.5 gpm at the most. Using a modern loader will trouble in two areas. The first being the flow, the loader will operate very slowly. Second, the D15 pump makes 3800 psi or more. This is way more than most modern cylinders will be happy with. When Allis Chalmers did this, they used very small diameter cylinders (1" or 1 1/4 diameter) this would enable very low amounts of hydraulic flow to move cylinders quickly. With the high pressure, the small cylinders would have the needed lifting power. If you could get cylinders correctly matched to the tractor's hydraulic system, a modern loader will work fine.
