WD45 3point

Is there a cheaper, maybe better,(to keep it looking closer to stock)way to change my WD45 to cat. 1 3point? From the descriptions and very few pictures I've seen the new arms don't even connect to the same points behind axel housing as the originals. Or am I missing something here?

I like the C&D Hitch. ..it maintains the factory drawbar yet allows for easy 3point conversion while keeping the snapcoupler setup intact, even the snapcoupler claws. . . .here is a pic & website listed below.

No, the 3 pt. arms on WD (and WD45 too, I assume) attach either to the snap coupler bell or like the one I have on my WD. On it the 3 pt lift arms attach to a heavy cross T sort of piece that bolts on the drawbar under the platform. This heavy T piece has big pins on the ends that the 3 pt arms attach to so they can pivot up and down. The 3 pt. arms are then attach to my WD's two lift arms by adjustable connectors. They screw up and down for changing height of arms, etc. I like the 3 pt on the WD, but it does make it difficult to get on the tractor at times, unlike my old Ford 2N that you get on from front. I like my type because drawbar stays on..... ...but it is sometimes in the way too.

It is possible you are missing something. ;-) The Allis arrangement has two upper load support arms mounted above a lower tow point (the snap coupler) so it is a "3-point" although it is often called a 2-point. The problem is that the tractor community has standardized on Ford's version of the 3-point where the two lower arms are both the load support and the tow point with a third upper stablizing link to keep the implements aligned properly.

I suppose if you are gifted mechanically you could figure a way to modify the WD to follow Ford's standard directly, however most people find that adding on the lower 3-point arms with attachments to the existing 2-point arms the cheapest solution to the 3-point conversion problem.
