need to know where the full oil level mark is on the hydraulic oil reservior and/or how much hydraulic oil the grader holds

I have just aquired a 1960 Model D road grader. The machine had not seen much use or service for several years but is in fair running condition. The hydraulics were a little slow so I added fliud through a filler elbow part way up the side of the reservoir until it reached that level. I felt that there might be some air in the system but when I checked it later the level was above this plug. I would say that if the fluid is up to the level of the plug on the side or the reservoir it should be ok.
I got a parts book with the machine but no manual. I need manifold gaskets and I don't know where to start looking to order some. Was this engine purpose built for the graders or did it come from the agricultural line? Except for exhaust blowing out the blown manifold gaskets the engine seems to be running well. I want to do a compression test and change the oil and filter. Any further information on this machine would be appreciated.
