Self starter kit for 1948 model b

I need a self starter kit for 1948 model b allis . this tractor has been rebuilt and is now "as new" but I am recovering from heart surgery and cannot crank the engine now.The kit should be a 12v but a 6v would do.

Rob,
Sorry you had the heart problem. Adding the starter to a hand crank B isn't real hard, but it's gonna be expensive. You'll need the torque tube, starter, ring gear for the flywheel, battery box and cables, starter switch rod and you'll have to modify your tool box to fit the battery in. It might be a lot easier to find a starter equipped B and restore it or maybe work a swap for one. Personally, if my hand crank B was restored, I'd try to find another one with starter/lights and restore it or maybe just fix it up a bit and use it for chores. Guess it depends on your situation, but now you have my 2� worth.

Park it on a hill, then don't stall it, not easy to do anyway, stall it I mean. Cheepest self starter there is-gravity!

that works great in places that have hills. .. but I live in flat NW Indiana, so I would have to buy the starter assembly as well if I were in his situation. .

The tractor should already have a hole in the torque tube for the starter check and se if there is a ring gear on the flywheel if there isn't you need one the n all you need is a starter from any B 12 volt will work on a 6-volt starter it won't hurt it next you'll need a battery box and that should be it.
