Just finished a clutch on a 6060 and a 6080. Both models are similar, though the 6080 is a somewhat larger unit, they both function about the same. Problem definitely sounds internal. Although there are 2 separate fork and finger assemblies in this clutch, it does rely on the same diaphragm spring to pressure both clutsh discs. If close inspection of the adjustments does not reveal any problems, the added force of the trans clutch may "overpresure"(?) the pto plate, causing the driven disc to be forced against the flywheel. Splitting this tractor is not a big deal, and can usually be accomplished by two somewhat qualified technicians in about 2 hours, tops. Now the fun begins. PTO disc is in front, trans disc is in rear. Clutch can be disassembled after removal from flywheel, BUT THE FINGERS MUST BE SET EVENLY TO A PREDETERMINED HEIGHT AFTER UNIT IS REASSEMBLED TO FLYWHEEL, AND BEFORE TRACTOR IS COUPLED BACK TOGETHER. This will assure that the fingers are in correct location in regards to release bearings. The special tool that gives a reference for finger adjustment also is the pilot tool for centering the discs. I had a tool made (n/c) at a local manufacturing facility (friend of a friend) and could provide you with dimensions if necessary. If this sounds a little intimidating, a competent clutch rebuilder should be able to help you out. I tried my local AC dealer but could not get any further than getting the dimensions, after that it was up to me to decide how I was going to set this clutch up and with what. Fortunately in my area there are 2 rebuilders that are able to help with this clutch. If you would like more details or the name of rebuilder her in wny that can work with these clutches, please feel free to email me. Hope this helps. Also check to see if something in pto cable/actuator is not stretching or bending.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE MAIN 2 DISIC CLUTCH NEEDS ADJ. OR REPALCEMENT
