The lift on my CA will not hold in one position, it is either moving up or down. I have tried adjusting the linkage to no avail. You only have to move the lever a fraction to get the lift to go up or down.

Dale, see my posts on 6/27/00 about this. I applied that fix to my WD45 and it works real good. In general if there are no leaks past the hold valve, the pressures are correct, the linkages are rigged correctly, the oil is the correct type then the clearance between the hold valve check ball plunger and the the hold valve check ball has decreased to zero. You need about .010" to .015" clearance between the plunger and the ball.

My CA hydraulics lowers while I'm using my Woods mower. I can not keep it at one height. No leaks are present at the cylinders. If the tractor is stopped, I can hear the hydraulics system starting to creep down immediately after stopping
the tractor engine. What and how do I fix this problem. Thanks in advance for your help & advise.

I am presumming you have the hydraulic controls set in the hold position. If you have the mower raised and leave the hand lever up when you shut the engine off and the mower begins to lower you have an internal hydraulic leak at the hold valve. The valve is leaking between the check ball and its seat. The ball can be reseated by pressing the ball against its seat and resizing the seat oil passage afterwards. This is not too easy to do in a home shop. Give Sandy Lake Implement a call and see if they can rebuild it for you.
