I have an ALLIS B i'm restoring and the gas tank paint is all thick and cracking and i don't think i want to use my DA sander or my wire brush on my grinder so does anyone have a paint remover they recommend????? ??

I just did that task on the gas tank from my 1950 Ford truck. I used a brass wire brush in my 3/8 drill. It removed the paint down to shiny metal quite easily. It takes a bit of time, and it's kinda tiring because of the vibration, but even on my 20 gal tank it was only about 3 hours of work.

I've heard great results from those who've used cheap oven cleaner. It takes off the grease with the paint and after a pressure washing, it's ready for paint.
