I'm building a WD pulling tractor. I bought a
WD-45 head to use on my WD. The WD-45 head is
taller than a WD head, so the WD studs will not
work. I need all the block studs, and head cap
screws out of a WD-45, OR else I'll have to sell
my WD-45 head and put my WD head back on. Please
help! Irv

I believe these are still available thru your dealer or at least they were a tear ago....

Find an old Gleaner E combine with bad engine. they were the same 226 ci. in.

How about using regular grade 8 hard studs from mail order. I work at a factory where we purchase various size studs, various lengths for equipment,pumps, mills, turbines. I purchase these from McMaster Carr mail order company in Chicago, Il. Their phone is 630-833-0300. All you need to know is diameter, thread pitch, and length. They normally sell to business, but there has to be a way???? They also have a web page where you could get the part numbers and see pictures of the studs. Just a thought.

McMaster will sell to individuals. I have ordered from them from time to time. Their catalog is a real treasure too if you can get one. I usually try and have a 30 or 40 dollar order, they don't have a minimum, but places that do usually have $25 as a min. You will probably be above that. The only problem is that you may need to order a box of studs. They may be packaged by 50 or 100 lots. Some are sold singley. Worth a call though. If you have to buy by the hundred you will be in the 45 head stud business.
