I am finally going to do it - Buy a D-17, 1958 model, w/factor installed trip bucket front end loader, and wide front end. Great price, in great shape, but it does NOT have PS. Is there a kit to convert this? This will be my first AC that I have ever owned, so I don't know about how to find ugrade kits, parts, etc. Any help would be great! (It does have a diverter valve already installed to operate the loader, if that helps)

You would be better off buying a parts tractor with power steering. This way you will have everything you need and it will fit like it is supposed to. Not to mention if you go to a junk yard and try to buy everything you need it may give you a real scare when they add up the price.

You can find most everything you need at Force America Inc. 601 E. cliff Road Burnsville, Mn. 55337. Phone 1-800-3282732. Ask for their catlogue, it has a wealth of items. They carry the Charr Lynn power steering torque generator units and other needed items. I hope this helps.

mine has an addon and many people get pumps from auto junk yards or farm catalogs and make homemade power steering outfits for wide front ends. narrow are harder to rig. check farm show magazine ,and on here. there are some mechanical geniuses online in the tractor forums. unfortunatly i'm not one of them. good luck !=)
