1959 D-14 starts and runs, but quits if choke is not on. Checked for intake leaks around carb to manifold, and manifold to head gaskets, none found. Any other suggestions?

Choke on simply sounds like not getting gas or enough gas period.Check fuel lines filters etc.Fuel pump if it isnt gravity fed.

Mine always does that after sitting all winter did the same thing this saturday I found dirt in float inside carb;unhook gas line from carb; turn her over with choke all the way towards front tires, turn her over a few times till she fires up; if gas keeps running out your float is bad; also if she only runs in that spot one of your spark plugs is fouled out;

I have run into that problem on several different tractors. If it will only run with the choke on that indicates fuel starvation. I would start by checking fuel flow from tank to carb, replacing and or cleaning all filters & screens along the way. hope this helps.

I have checked fuel flow from the tank to the carb. It is fresh fuel and flows freely to the carb inlet. It still will run with choke only partially open. The carb had been previously rebuilt, but it has been sitting for around 9 months, so I will take it back apart and clean it again. Any other suggestions what to look for when I'm in the carb?
