I have a 1941 C Allis that my grandfather bought new in 1941. It runs great as it was over hauled about 7 years ago but has set around alot since then. The problem that we are having is with rust and varnish in the gas tank. Does anyone know of a way to clean it out? I have read somewhere about a sealer that can be put in a gas tank to prevent rust from comming loose after it is cleaned. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say you would remove the tank from the tractor and put warsh stone in the tank and shake it repeatedly until the tank comes clean. Run gas throut it and you should be ready to go. you can get this stone at walmart it is mainly used for landscaping.

Butch, muratic Acid will clean rust from tank
2gal, and tank full of water let set for 1hr repeat ,then add fuel tank cond,from local motorcycle store.

Butch, there is a sealer called Kreem. It is a two part cleaner/sealer. I've used it on vintage motorcycles before with good success. I buy it at motorcycle shops or through motorcycle catalogs. For a C tank, which I believe, holds 12 gallons, you might need two kits. Good luck and more importantly, have fun!
