I have a wd45 that no matter what you do with the hand lever the pump never shuts down,all the linkages are fine, fluid is fine, just doesnt know when to quit, any suggestions ?

Sounds like a broken or stuck control valve return spring (also called a backup spring). When the lift control is moved to the "raise" position an internal cam in the pump turns to "push" the control valves forward allowing oil to pump into the rams. When the control is moved back to the hold or lower position a backup spring is suppose to push the control valves back to the bypass position, keeping the valves in contact with the cam.

Its a relatively easy fix (if that's all that's wrong with it and you can find replacements for broken parts) *once* you get the pump off the tractor. The first time you do one is quite a learning experience. Depending on why the control valves are sticking it may be worth your time just to buy a rebuilt pump (~$275) as you can sink a lot of time in one since the only way you (and I) have to test it is to put it back on the tractor (another learning experience BTW).

HELP for my D19 same prob!

I've got this problem with a D19. Does it work the same way. I had slow, constant lift before. I found the pump to be bad. The cam-activated rollers were all gone but one. I put in a "new" junkyard pump with all the rollers and now she does the same thing. Slow lift all the time. Control levers do nothing. One of the levers by the seat will drop the plow rather harshly when pushed down. I have a service manual on order. I 've only had this machine since Sunday--HELP!

Sorry. I don't know the "D" line at all. I've heard that some of the D's have the same pump as the WD's and that's the limit of my experience with them.
