An older gent was telling me that the B front rims could be swapped for implement rims. He could not tell me from what implements... is this true? and what implement? I'm in Northern Ontario and parts are hard to find. Thanks for any info.

The wheels off some but not all of the antique AC hay rakes may work as B fronts. However, these rakes can be darn hard to find nowadays, and are often buried deep in overgrown fencerows when they can be found.

Go to Miller Tire at this website and see what they charge for new front rims for your B; I think you'll find them affordable and much more satisfactory than trying to cobble a substitute using a dang car tire.

I have a '39 B that I bought a couple of months ago and it has some sort of car rims on it. My hot rod buddy says they are old chevy or other GM. They have slots around the center and clips to hold on a small hub cap. They seem to work ok but I will probably replace them when I get to that part.

I have heard, not verified by me, that the throw away spare tires from a mid '80's Buick LeSabre or Olds 88 will fit. Should be easy to find in the junkyards as there were tons of them.

I had a set of Chevy Camero wheels on mine. If you're looking for correct and the roms are rotted the VW or Ford N rims with the Allis center works. For mowing or low ground pressure use small pattern Chevy wheels. 5 bolts on 4 1/2" circle.

Many Chevys used 4 3/4 bolt circle. Many Chrysler Corp. vehicles used 4 1/2 bolt circle. 5 lug boat trailer wheels use 4 1/2 bolt circle. Is your center still good and just the rim bad? Miller Tire has the rims that could be welded to your centers.

Well, I guess my memory didn't serve me well; maybe they were Chevy wheels? It was a very, very long time ago; like 50 years or so. Is the bolt pattern on the WD the same as that on the Bs & Cs?

I "think" the "B" bolt pattern is same as common Ford/Mopar/AMC. I remember my father using a set of Plymouth wheels on his "B" years ago. I know some of the older AMCs had a fairly narrow (4-1/2" or 5") wheel but you have to check the offset to make sure you don't get a wheel that runs too far from the spindle C/L as this will make it steer hard and put too much stress on the front-end. There is an old farmer near me who has a couple of "C"s. He tells me that he has used the outer rims from VW Beetles and welded them to the original A-C centers.
