I have a WD. The plugs for putting in clutch oil and the differential oil (square head) have been painted over. They are very difficult to get a wrench on. Is there a special tool to get these plugs out? A crows foot perhaps? Anything I can make? Since these plugs are between the frame and trans it's a tight fit.
I also just want to thank all the people who left some VERY useful information on this message board! I have learned alot about my ol WD I didn't know about. My magneto works now, the carb works fine, and it starts like it was new! Thanks to you all!! Sincerely, Tony.

Pick up a "square" socket; either 4 or 8 point. I've accumulated just about every size square socket from 1/4" to 1-1/4" at garage sales and flea markets over the years. They make the job real easy. Real handy for lag bolts too, although a lot of them are now hex heads. As Sandy Lake says, you can sometimes get a pretty tight fit on a square head with a 12 point socket.

Thanks a bunch fellas! 12pt socket worked! I still might keep my eyes open for some four point sockets though. Once again, thank you. Tony.

How about an 8 point socket?

Tom
