Persian Orange and the D17

I intend to paint the old girl up this spring after the plowing is done. I have a spray gun, pressure pot and some painting experience. My question is: Where is a good source for the paint color, and is there any advantage of using a particular paint mfg over another that has the same color?

Do a search for "paint" Don. Also check the Allis site. I've seen lots of this discussion.

Thanks Wade, I guess what I am asking is about some paint identified as Allis Orange at the local Farm & Fleet store in town. They claim it is good paint and the color matches the Allis Chalmers color. The F& F is close and it would be real handy for me and at only $20.00 the price is right. If you or anyone else has some experience with the paint I would like to hear from you.

You're going to be doing a lot of work to prep & paint your tractor. Don't try to save 10 or 20 bucks by buying poor quality paint. My experiences with paint from so called "Tractor Supply" stores have all been bad. The paint didn't cover well, faded quickly, and didn't wear well.. I now buy my paint from the tractor dealer or auto paint supply stores ...
BTW, there were at least 3 different Orange colors on AC tractors.

Ron, Thanks for the advice and appreciate your rsponse sto my question. I have checked with the local NAPA dealer and they have the paint I am looking for. I agree quality pays in many ways but sometimes you pay more and still don't get what you expected. I am an X Paint shop manager and have the right equipment so I will go with the better stuff.
