I got some latches in a bucket of junk at auction Sat. They are steel not cast but fit on my WD arms. I was wondering if they were factory or aftermarket replacement parts. They look like a mousetrap. Thanks for info, Crawlerjohn

The steel ones are the first version. I have three different styles to fit my WD & WD-45. The other two styles are cast. I have heard that there are as many as 4 versions.

Around here used ones with good springs are $50 per pair, You can buy new ones I am told for $100 per pair. john

THE EARLY LATCHES HAD AN OPEN TOP. NOT SOLID LIKE THE LATER ONES. AROUND HERE THEY ARE GETTING SCARCE AND I KNOW OF SOME PRICED AT $5O APIECE!

noticed comment about open latches. my d14 has open latches (cast)with a spring to help hold them closed. narrow front, 4 speed with h/l. any clue as to what year it is?
