ARE AC-B OIL FILTERS AVAILABLE WITH A FLAT TOP(A LOGO WOULD BE NICE) SO YOU CAN GET NO4 PLUG OUT REGARDS NIGELB

Nigel,
I don't think the old flat top filters are available any more. I have seen some folks put a tin can over the filter with a decal on it. It looks like the old style filter but it's really a new one underneath.
I don't have a problem getting the #4 plug out of my B, but I could see where it could cause a problem if your socket or ratchet handle is fairly large. I use a 3/8" drive on mine and it is a tight fit, but the plug unscrews with my fingers after I get it broken loose.

On my 1941 B I am using a Fram filter (C-159),not
sure about the number. It has a dome top but I
can still get the #4 plug out no problem.
