I HAVE A ALLIS MODEL 14. THE WET (HAND) CLUTCH GRABS SLIGHTLY WHEN ITS IN NEUTRAL. SHOULD YOU BE ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS WITH THE WET CLUTCH IN NEUTRAL AND NOT PUSHING IN THE FOOT CLUTCH? IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT? IS TERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH CLUTCH? WHAT CAN I DO? I HAVE A ALLIS MODEL 14. THE WET (HAND) CLUTCH

Hey Tim, You should always use your foot clutch when changing gears. Netural position in the power director clutch was primarily used to keep the PTO live. When you get a high spot or a little warpage in your discs or plates, it causes them to jump a little bit. You need to inspect and adjust. This is a little bit of a tricky job. It's been a while since I've done one, I remember there's not only shims like the W-D's, but the trick to it is to get to the right clearance all the way around the clutch with feeler gauge. You need to get a good Allis-Chamlers manual, this will guide you through it.Or seek professional help. I presume you have both high and low? These were very dependable clutches. Hope this helps.

noticed when i put hand clutch in center position, my d14 still pulls a little. is this normal? someone once told me that it was supposed to quit pulling when in mid position.
