can someone help? ive just got an allis chalmers model B about 1937/8 and i dont know how to time it up or start it? ive been told the firing order is 1243,it has a lucas distributor but im not sure which leads go to what spark plug? can anyone help me? your replies will be greatly appreciated as this is my first tractor ive restored.thanks. rodney from manchester uk....

Your B should not have a distributor,especialy a Lucas. Should have a Fairbanks Morse Magneto If it has a mag, I could walk you through it. Make sure that is what it has. If its a Lucas dist. someone has changed it.

take plugs out find #1 TDC on compression pull dist. cap see where rotor is to where cap sets if rotor does not line up with cap pull dist and set it back in so it does.next observe rotor rotation then connect high tension lead to coresponding cylinders.
