In the oline book on this site, The Little ACs, the author states that the C was never produced with silver rims. True or false????? I'm repainting our and want the proper wheel colors. Thanks!

JW,
The color of the front rims varied with the year of production. Front rims could be all PO#1. Some had a black rim with a PO#1 center. Some had All PO#1 with one or two black stripes of various widths.
Rear rims should be PO#1 for centers and the rims were originally galvanized or enameled black. Most folks use aluminum silver for the rear rims or something similar. Check out Guy Fay's new book, Original Allis-Chalmers 1933-1957. It has a lot of good info on original rim color in it.
