Stiff steering on '47 C

The steering on our '47 C is very stiff. It appears as though there are the remains of dried grease or bushings in the drag links. My manual shows some type of bushing but doesn't tell anything about it. Does anyone know the part number of this bushing, what it's called or where it can be purchased? Also how many are needed?

Take the stearing arm off that goes from the stearing box to the front of the trsctor. I rebuilt my stearing box only to find that it did no good. If I would have jacked up the tractor and turned the fron wheels I would have found that the shaft going to the center of the stearing was dry and would hardly move by hand.
I pulled it apart and cleaned the rusty crud out of the bushings and polished the shaft and needed no parts. The stearing box can get stiff also if water gets in and rusts up the ball bearings.

Okay Dick here's one for you.... are there supposed to be bushings in there? They seem to be falling to pieces. Do you know where to get more if I need them or should I just grease the heck out of them?

I will put a couple drawings up and you can tell me from that what bushings you are finding broken.
If you have broken bushings you should by all means replace them to keep more damage from accuring. Bill at Sandy Lake might have the bushings or be able to get them for you.

drill and tap and install grease fittings for all bushings when you put it together. Even in the steering box unless it is in good enough shape to hold 90 weight oil. If you think a grease fitting will get broken off of the front end do it anyway and put plugs in the holes. You can remove the plugs once in a while and put a grease fitting in and grease it, then put the plug back.
