Hydraulic Lift Tear Down Advice Needed

Well, I am attempting to replace the internal hydraulic hose on my 1961 D17. This is my 1st attempt to fix something myself. The IT shop manual says to remove jam nut and set screw from bottom of RH brake compartment, thread bolt into ram cylindar pivot pin and pull pin from housing. What size bolt do I use, and where do I screw it in the pivot pin? Do I attempt to screw it in the same hole where the jam nut and set screw were? The manual does not show nor explain where or how. I hope someone can help me out. I need this old sweetheart running for spring plowing. Oh,by the way, the I&T service manual is for a Series 3 and I believe my tractor is a series 2. Does that make a difference in the tear down procedure that I described or will it be ok?>

Well, thanks to Bill @ Sandy Lake Implement, and Steve on the board I have removed the pin. Now the only problem is I can't pop the housing off the transmission dowell pins. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to pound on it. I have tried prying with a 4x4 to no avail. It is really tight! I have it under light tension with a cable hoist. It will not budge. Thanks again!

Don, in case you dont have it off yet, Some guys use RTV on the covers and you are right, it holds like its glued together. The best way is to use a small chisle or putty knife and try to pound it in at a corner into the gasket. kind of like breaking a suction cup loose from a window. YOu can pull real hard and it does no good, if you stick a small wedge in one corner you can get a little air gap and then it will start to let go.

This is what they are trying to say. I dont have the exact dimensions for the thread in the pin.
--The pin that holds the cylinder on is pushed in a hole in the case. Then end of the pin is hollow and is threaded, maybe 1/2 or 3/8 bolt thread. you can screw a bolt into this hole and pull on it to pull the pin out. This is common if you cannot get on the back side to pound the pin out, or push it thru. The pin is in a "blind hole". The next part is the set screw and jam nut. To keep the pin from working out of the hole, a set screw is locked aginst the pin at a 90 degree angle to the pin. It should screw thru the housing boss and dead end aginst the pin to keep it from backing out. Of course this lock screw must be removed before pulling the pin out with the 1/2 inch bolt. A picture might help describe the above.
