A friend of mine is having problems getting parts for repacking the lifting cylinders . The cylinder does not have the gland nut on the cylinder. Should he try to see if he can find some after market cylinders to put on? He loves the tractor and it is a shame he can not use it because it is in such good running condition. Thanks for any help. The serial # is 9447

Has he actually checked with an AGCO dealer about parts availablity? I would think there's a good chance AGCO would still have that part, it just won't be cheap. You could try a salvage yard for another ram, but you need to be aware that the rams on a CA or early D-10/12 are different (low volume high pressure system, you can tell difference by different diameter of shaft). Since Serties III D-12 have conventional (1500 psi) hydraulics, you should be able to make an aftermarket replacement ram work, but may need to replace both sides for compatability.
