I'm curious (always a very dangerous thing!) Is there only one lift cylinder on all B's with hyd? Is there any advantage to using two lift cylinders?

question back to you. I have a 47 B, the hydraulics did not work, more like it shot fluid all over. My brother'n'law patch it up. Now we need to know how it should really be put together. There are no cylinders at all. All we have are the levers. Can anyone help us out, even a pic would do.

The AC B has a high pressure - low volume system. That is why the hyd. cyl. is small. Mine only has one also.

Most of the AC-B" had only one cylinder, but if the B had a 2 way plow it needed two cylinders, one to raise each plow.

What! Another piece of equipment for the B that I don't own?!! Seriously, I'd love to see a picture of the 2-way plow, I've got manual and hydraulic 1-ways and cultivators and mowers etc. but have never seen a 2-way plow.

The two way plow used two cylinders to work it. There was a left right valve right under the seat that ran the fluid back and forth for the cylinders to work. The more popular unit was on the Allis C. What this plow enabladed you to do was to go up and down in the same furrow and never get the "dead" furrow in the field. Rember that the tractor only plowed one row at a time and this was a quicker way of getting more work done. I had one on an Allis C that I just sold, I do have the plow manual that showes the unit avalible for the Allis B. ED
