IB tractor design

I like the design of the Industrial B tractor, which is basically a "B" with the rear axle housings turned 90 degrees forward to lower the tractor 6 inches. My question is, has anyone ever tried to make one of these out of a normal B? Do you have to install a C-channel support from the axles housing to the front end for support like the original, or will the housing take the stress of mounting 90 degrees forward. third- how does the IB design work with a three point hitch and other chores around the farm? Is the back end to low or too light with the axle moved forward and up???

I believe the first few IB's were made without the channel. I am thinking that the channel was placed on there to support (mount) mowers, blades, and to push from. Other than that I really cant help you.

They have a shorter torque tube as well, then several other things like the tank support and stearing. Saw a picture, and it might have been here, where the B front axle had been turned upside down and the axle housings turned. Makes an interesting looking tractor. Be fun to play with.

Thanks for all the ideas and support. The "B" is a 1948 and has a wide adjustable width front end. I like the picture with the tube axle turned upside down, never thought of that. Does anyone have experience with using a three point setup, or center mower on a IB.
