WD-45 Carburetor Float Questions

Ok, I've got two questions for everyone:

1 I have a Marvel Carb installed on my WD-45 that had a sticking float. After removing it I did find some crud on the bottom of the bowl that probably kept the float stuck to the bottom. The unit has been cleaned, reinstalled, and seemed to run good. Today, I noticed (after running the tank low on fuel) that my float appears to be stuck again. I do live in the Northeast and yes it is cold right now.

--How Can I Cure This Problem?

2 The second question may be obvious to some of you, but it isn't to me. When I disassembled the carb I noticed that my floats are partially filled with fluid. There appears to be no point of puncturing or leakage in the float, so I can only assume that it contains a specific amount of fluid to give it the correct weight. No where in my manuals does it refer to a specific "float weight" which brings me back circle to believe that this is just not normal.

I just got a float for a WD with a Marvel carb from Tisco. You need to find a dealer that deals with Tisco as they don't sell to individuals. It fit perfectly and cost $9. you set the float by filing the washer under the float valve seat or adding another or a thicker, whichever is right for your situation. Try installing an inline fuel filter after the one on the bottom of your gas tank to help catch what it might miss. If you get a plastic one you may be able to see when it has water or dirt in it.

Gary first ,the float is not supposed to have any fuel in it which means there are holes in the float,you can find a new float and carb. rebuild kit at the link on the left side of this page (parts suppliers)also you need to flush gas tank,sediment bowl and blow all lines out,hope this helps!!
