Help with a '44 C

The sediment bowl appears to be stuck on a C I just got. Should it just pull off or screw off?
Also does anyone have any idea where I can get a single piston and ring for it?

the glass bowl is held on by a metal fastener with a screw in the middle. unscrew the screw at the bottom of the bowl. and then pull out one of the ends of the fastener. The glass bowl should pull right out but there is a cork gasket that has probrobly glued itself to the glass bowl. don't worry, it may be hard to get it off, but keep prying. the first time I did it I broke the bowl , but the glass bowl only cost me about 2.00.do not forget to replace the cork gasket after taking it off. you will have to buy a new gasket for probrobly .50. well good luck . let me know what happens.

Bob, I assume you've taken the bail off already? then it should just pull off. I think trying to pull the bottom away from the tractor is the best route. The gaskets will set up if not looked at. Napa makes a good rubber replacement for about 55cents. take the old one for size. If the bowl breaks no biggy, you can get just the bowl. You should wear gloves when you do this.

For the piston, You might try some of the tractor junk yards. I'm planning on stopping at my dealer in Coxsackie, NY soon and he usually has everything I've asked for. What is the bore size and I'll see what he's got.
