Reposting this message,don't think first one went through. Looked at a WC today sn#142871s, have a few questions I need answers on. The owner says that he has had the starter checked out at two different places and seems nobody can find any thing wrong with it, but when you install it, it will not spin the engine. The engine is free I turned it over today by turning the fan blade by hand,but it will not start.Owner says if you pull it off it will just sputter but not crank, says it is gettin gas, believe it may be the coil in the mag. What do you guys think? Sheetmetal is in good shape, no rust, one tire will have to be replace. Noticed that this tractor has a IHC magneto on it, does not appear to have been changed. Did Allis use the on the WC? So what would be a good price for this tractor. Thanks in advance. Buddy

BuddyT! be carefull turning the engine over by grabing the fan blades,If the engine fires at all,you could get hurt bad.Second,if you can turn it with the fan ,I suspect you have low compression.Put a little oil in each cylinder and see if compression comes up. My opinion,$500-600 price range. All my WCs have FM magnetos,but, three different models .

Turning the starter over without a load (the Engine)is easy for a battery. When you put it under load it takes a lot of amps. The battery may be bad or weak. The battery terminals may need cleaning. The battery cable connections may be dirty. The starter switch may need cleaning. In other words all connections have to be top notch to turn over the engone. Another item ,shine up the point on the set screw that holde the starter in the bell housing ,and be surt the screw is tight.
