Auction on D 10

Have followed the mystery D 10 postings lately. Saw today in paper a farm auction with many tractors first of which listed was a AC D10, gave no yr nor condition. Any thoughts of what it would be worth. Are they rare or a dime a dozen? I've got my little AC C looking so good I don't want to do any work with it. I need somthing I can work with a bush hog. Any one got any rough dollar amts I could go by just incase I go to the auction. Thanks Fred

This will make some of ya'll howl but the mystery AC was bought for $500 et al. The old gal just wanted it GONE!

Since I am an Oliver man I just fell into this deal as I still know next to nothing on the ACs.

Looking on the net and hear I would say average price is $1800-$2800 depending on condition and any accessories.

I look fwd to this next chapter in my "Boy Toys."

The value of a D-10/12 varies with year, equipment and condition. Early D-10/12 didn't have any form of live PTO, and only those without traction booster had live hydraulics. In mid 1961 AC increased the engine size from 138 ci to 149 ci; added true live PTO and hydraulics; went to standard low pressure/high volume hydraulics; 12V electrical and other improvements. All series II and III D-10/12 are post-1961 and so are a few "series I". Series III included optional two range transmission, optional draft sensitive three point hitch, optional 3 spool hydraulics, and cosmetic changes (headlights move to rear fenders, oval muffler). The 1961 changes started with serial No. 3501/3001. Most desireable are late model Series III with factory draft sensitive 3-point hitch and two range transmission. Power steering is a rare option. Early D-10/12 go for $1500 to $2500 and really don't have any great advantages over a CA. Series II with Snap-Coupler hitches go for $2500 to $4000 and a Series III with factory 3-point hitch and two range transmission can go for $4000 to $5000. PTO HP is a little under 30 for the 138 ci engine, a little over 30 for the 149 ci. These tractor have amazing traction for their size, but are a little light in the front end for carrying rear mounted implements. The D-10 was designed for one row cultivation and the D-12 for two rows; so the wheel spacing and range of adjustment on the D-10 is less than the D-12.

Up here in central Illinois they go for about $2000-4000 depending on condition. Pretty neat little tractor but you may want something larger to bush hog with. I think the HP rating is 22HP. John

The early D10 and 12 had 28hp and latest one about
33hp [Cockshutt 30 had 33hp and Oliver 77 about
34hp] so as with most AC tractor they had alot of
HPs for the size. I have pulled a 5 foot bush hog
with a CA, D10 and D12 and they do a good job.They
are very stable which is important where I live as
its hilly.
