Used a 1 1/4" taper pipe tap. It will be water tight and won't wobble. You would have to have the muffler pipe expanded to fit over a 1 1/4" pipe nipple

i run a 48" tall straight pipe that i picked up from a napa store off of my 175. not only does it give more power but gives off a great sound. also if you want a deeper sound go with a taller pipe.

I have an underhood muffler I am going to try this year. The chrome pipe let some water in last year at some shows. Nick #2

Is that the tap sticking out of the manifold in the picture? what about the metal shavings, would I have to vac out? Is that the size i would need for a ca? On to a different subject, what would you suggest for freeing up the shutters, and crank on the grille?

Yup, that is the tap. Just set it up there for show and tell. I just stuck one nut on so I wouldn't knock it off. I am going to put a 2" stainless pipe about 2' long on so I can look and sound like the big boys.

I get them red hot and work the threaded rod back and fourth. I have saved some that way but not all. If it breaks off you can drill it out and retap it and make a new rod. I see some one has them for sale.
