just got tractor not even sure if it is c or ca not running but not stuck. wide front. got rear wheeel bearing out. i think mag is bad need info on timing point gap etc. how do i find out what year and model it is thanks a lot dennis bush grandville tn

Dennis,
Look right in front of the shift lever for the cast in TRACTOR NO. Right to the rear of that is the S/N and that starts with the model (C for a C and CA for a CA). Also, the CA should be a 4-speed vs. a 3-speed for a C. Either way, they're fun tractors!

This is a C. I posted a magneto picture below, points are set at.020. You can find the timing mark on the flywheel looking through the round inspection hole on the left side. Like most engines, start to time at top dead center on compression stroke of number one cylinder.

This is a CA. Notice the bosses in the bottom of the front grill, also the two bosses in the center of the torque tube, and then the spin out rear rims. The C does not have these three things.
There are other differances but you can see these in the picture.
