D-21 Question.

I have found a D-21 that has sat for 2 years, and is stuck. It is complete though. It also comes with a 15 foot batwing mower that has sat for quite some time too. They want 3000 for the package, Is this fair?

From what I see there are more people wanting to buy D-21's than there are tractors to go around.However,if you live in Iowa and the tractor is in Louisiana then $3,000 is plenty for one with a stuck motor.I had a chance to buy back a D-21 that I used to own in the 80's.This was 5 years ago and they wanted $3500 for the tractor,6x16 AC plow,and 16ft AC chisel.The owner had died and the tractor had sat for several years.It needed tranny work.It was only 5 miles away and I regret not buying it.You cant find a D-21 anywhere these days.Is the one you want to buy a Series II ?

A rebuild kit would cost about 900.00 you have to have the head redone 500.00 at least the injectors that had water in the cyl. 65.00 ea and a most likley a turbo rebuild 450.00. If the tractor was where it could freeze the block could be split between the cyls. but that dont happen often. if you were going to have the labor done 1,000.00- 1,500.00 how bad do you want it plus you cant check out trans, rear,or hyd.with out it running. to gamble or not to gamble
