Recently I heard about an AC-B Asparagus Special. What is the difference between such tractor and a "regular" AC-B?

Would they call it a "high crop" allis b? I've seen someone selling a high crop allis b, did they make one? I have a b and it's already high enough already. ed

Ralph: The AC-B Special has 12.5 inches greater crop
clearence than the standard B. This was gained with a longer more greatly bowed front axle and in most cases the use of 28 inch rears. The Special and Hi-Crop were the same machine. The only difference were the decals on these B's.

I won't say that they did not make one, but I have not ever seen anything about a high crop in the "little AC" series which includes the A, B, C, CA, and IB. I have a B and an IB, and have researched the B's a lot... Nothing in any of my books or conversations with folks around the country. Could it be custom made or adapted? I am now curious, too?

I see the difference with the pictures Jodie. The front end of this tractor is different than my "standard b". The rear wheels look odd also. I don't see them being to strong. The rims and the hubs are also different than my b. Cool pictures to look at any ways. Now I want one to go with my Allis b. Ed
The high crop tractor was sold back in the fall when I called. I don't rember what they were seling it for $$ I would think. If I ever get more info on the high crop b I will let you know. Ed
