On the B the outside stub axel has an oil seal that can be replaced with out removing the axel or nut. Remove the cast wheel from the splined axel with wheel pullers. The seal can be removed with a screwdriver or sharp pick or object.
Good luck

Like Tseifert stated you wouldn't have to take the axle out to change the seal. To answer your questions, no they are not seaked bearings, and the bearing behind the inside cap, where you removed the washers and shims, is pressed onto the axle and the axle would have to be pressed out as you unscrewed the nut inside the casting.

Nigel; You should able to obtain the seals you need from you're local Auto parts supplier. The seal numbers you need are as follows, Wheel seals a National [U.S.] 415001, Bull Pinion seal, again National, number450456. If they don't carry National, They should have an interchange manual to find a direct cross match in another maker.
