I have Just got A Allis Chalmbers which i believe to be a model U The engine no is 36878k
On top of the housing in front of the seat the follwing is cast on the metal U25-14 I hope that someone can identify the model/year of manufacture

I also have the same ouestion!! What does the U2512 on top of the tranny stand for????? Im quessing its something to do with the model.

Eugene; You're tractor is a U. with the info you provided it is a 1938/39. the engine number appears to be a '38 and the trans. case number appears in the listings of '39 numbers. this is'nt uncommon as tractors produced late in the year often got parts for the new year. Many Auto's got this treatment.Check also the differentail case number this could help determine
the model year.

What is the serial no. on the rear of the differential housing? The last no. I could find for the U was 23056.
