I tearing down my AC-b and need to remove the
tool box , but it appears that I need to remove
the steering wheel to do so.
I've removed the acorn nut, but the wheel doesn't
budge. Does it screw off, or what?

The Gear puller pulled is off as smooth as silk.
Didn't need the heat. Just goes to prove "Use the right tool for the job!"

It has a tapered fit with a key. I give the stearing wheel hub some heat and rap it good a few times from the bottom and it pops off. If it dont come off in the first few hits, get a bigger hammer and use more heat.

I had a really hard time getting the wheel off my C, tried heat, hammer, etc. The fix was to get a 2 jaw puller, and put tension on it, then smack the end of the puller sharply to break the taper loose. This should work for you.
Good Luck,
Marty
