Allis Chalmers 3 point hitch question/clarification

I have a 1960 D14. Since I am new to the tractor world, will the 3 point hitch system on an Allis Chalmers tractor (D14 in my case) hinder me from using Category 1 three point hitch attachments? Is this because of the snap coupler that is underneath? Just a little confusion

Thanks,
Chris Heiden

Yes, it is a completely different setup. Although you can purchase a 3-point hitch conversion kit for your D-14. This package allows you to use your catagorie 1 equipment.

Do you have a 3 point conversion on your snap coupler type setup? if so you can use standard 3 point equipment. Some people confuse the Allis snap couple setup with true 3 point. In the snap couple setup you have a long bar from the implement that snaps into the lower coupler where your drawbar is, and 2 rods that connect to your lift arms. In true 3 point the setup is reversed in you have 1 top link on the upper part of the implement, and 2 arms which raise and lower, that connect to the lower part of the implement. Hope this description helps.

Nope. I have the Allis Chalmers snap couple setup. I found out I have to purchase a conversion kit.

Thanks a lot
