Anyone know what the compression should read on a compression chk of a C engine?? I didnt see a spec in my I.T. manual, other than the compression ratio. I was looking for what the psi reading should be at the plug ?
Thanks, Marty

I believe if you multiply the Compression Ratio X 14.7 ( Atmos. Press. )you will get the maximum compression for that engine. Eg. the 125 BE engine has C/R of 4.9 - so its max. compression reading would be 72 psi.The 125 CE engine has a C/R of 5.75 - so max. compression reading would be 85 psi. CA works out to 92 psi.

I would expect to see between 70 & 95 for a descent running engine. Bill

Thanks Guys,
I was suprised to see only 85 psi, I guess I'm used to working on modern cars. I feel a lot better now.
