Good advice here. These cylinders are not hard to work on. Basically, you have a shaft on a "hockey puck" looking plug with "O" rings to seal against the cylider walls. Then you have a front cylinder plug with a hole in it to let the shaft poke out. That's the "gland." Everything is pretty straight forward and simple to work with. Keep things clean in your work area and don't get the idea that this takes any kind of expert to repair.

I've rebuilt three so far and they're all working fine. At several hundred dollars replacement cost for a new cylinder, $12 worth of new seals sure looks attractive.

Try tighteneing the gland nut on the end of the
ram. It was designed to crush the packing and
should be able to be snugged several times before
it bottoms out. If you need new packing we have
it on stock. Remove the nut & work the old stack
out, slide the new stack into place, reinstall
& snug the nut.

Take the cyclendar to your AGCo Ac dealer and buy new packing. There was more than one type of cyclindar used.
