I have a 1938 Allis Model B. I put on a 3pt hitch. I can't raise the implements high enough to get them off the ground. The problem seems to be that my top link is too long. The shortest position is 20 inches. I need one about 10-12 inches at the shortest setting, but can't find one anywhere. Any idea where I can buy one?

Couple options might be to (1) make one by buying fixed ends and welding them on short piece of heavy guage steel (could not adjust of course) or (2) check hardware store for heavy adjustable (threaded) tighteners like grandma used to tighten clothesline wire. The heavy ones have a pretty high test strength (1600 lbs or more) and are short also. Prizes to the guy who can make up something that works and doesn't cost an arm and leg. Good luck.

Just cut out a suitable portion of the center (unthreaded) portion of the center section and weld the threaded end pieces back together, and cut off part of each threaded end piece, such that you end up with a "shorty" toplink that fits the length you need. Email me on how to collect the prize!
