A friend says he thinks he has an RC Allis. He can't find any numbers except on the rear end cover. I have never heard of one, were they made and what years? We think in the late 1930's. Would appreciate anything you can tell us about this.

W.W.,
Bruce has given you the basics, but there's a lot on the RC that's different from the WC. The rear axle ratio is different, lower than the WC, and is prized by pullers of WC's. The rear fenders are the same as the early styled WC's. The later styled WC's used a different mounting bracket and won't fit the RC.
Look in the serial number reference on the left of the screen and use the TRACTOR NO. from the center of the rear axle to find out the year. I have a '39 RC, 838, and have seen a couple of '40 models, but never a '41. Let us know what you find out.

Phil

Allis Chalmers produced the model RC in 1939-1941. they are, more or less, a WC tractor, with a B engine. According to serial numbers, less than 5500 were made.
