I need to put power steering fluid in my d15. The IT shop manual is vague about what kind. There is also no dipstick to tell if it is over filled. Can it be over filled? Thanks in advance.

My '59 D14 manual states: power steering capacity is 4 quarts. Keep filled to 5/8" above top of segment gear with SAE 5w-20 for temps below zero...and 10w-30 for temps above zero. Hope this helps.

I have always seen Dextron ATF in the D series
power steering. The res should be filled until
the fluid is about 1/4" over the flat gear
underneath the filler/breather hole.
